The Glass Menagerie

by Tennessee Williams

About the Show

This award-winning classic made Tennessee Williams. It’s the gritty story of a Depression-era family coping with a lack of money, prospects and hope. Told through the memories of Tom, a young man who dreams of becoming a poet as he works in a warehouse to support his mother and sister. Amanda, his mother dreams of the gentlemen callers in her past, as she wishes for one in her disabled daughter’s future. Laura, the daughter, has no dreams and spends her days playing with a collection of glass animals.

When Tom finally brings his friend, a supposed gentleman caller, home for dinner, the evening turns ugly. Shattered by a dismal future the family struggles to move forward. Four of RPP’s most accomplished actors star in this brilliant play. With unforgettable writing and gut-wrenching performances, ‘THE GLASS MENAGERIE’ is a tour de force you’ll always remember.
